Bath Salts
This is a fun, easy project and it's really something mom will enjoy and use. Three easy-to-find ingredients (you may even have them at home) and a little bit of mixing is all it takes. Have the children put the bath salts in a pretty container, tie with a bow and add a hand made label and you're good to go.

Clay Catch All Bowl
These may be a little more difficult to make but they are so pretty that any mom would treasure one or two. A trip to Michael's Crafts and you can easily buy all of the supplies inexpensively. The plus is that you can make them for other holiday gifts as well!

All About My Mommy
This one requires a creative and computer savvy helper but the end result is such a keepsake that the effort is well worth it. The sample is for a Valentine's Day gift for dad but it works perfectly for Mother's Day. Follow up in June for Father's Day and then frame both together for a beautiful piece of art.

I Love You Because Jar
This one is so easy even the most non-artistic father can help his kids make it! Just cut up slips of paper and have the kids write down why they love mom–one to a sheet. Fill up a BIG jar with the slips and give mom a gift she will love and return to frequently.

Original Artwork Potholders
Easy peasy! Buy potholders in a light color to match your kitchen (check the dollar store!) and give the kids a package of fabric markets to draw all over the potholders. Follow the instructions on the markers to set the color. If possible, buy potholders without quilting to get a smoother surface.
