The variety of delicious apples available during the fall months are certainly my favorite part about this season. Here in SW Florida, we may not have beautiful orange, red and yellow leaves or crisper weather to create the Autumn mood but we can make an apple dish or two to welcome the season!
1. Classic Applesauce. Super simple to make and so delicious to eat. I think it's perfect for breakfast or as a snack but it's also a delicious accompaniment to main dishes.
2. Celery-Apple Salad. If you haven't used apples in salad, you're missing out. This one is a winner, it's easy to make and so good for you. Depending on the kid, this may be a hit with children especially if you lighten up the onion.

3. Easy Apple Dumplings. These delicious dumplings use refrigerated piecrust dough so they are easy to pull together quickly. Serve with vanilla ice cream for a traditional Autumn treat that your guests will love.

4. Toasted Turkey, Brie, and Apple Sandwich. This one is probably a little sophisticated for most kids but you can bet your adult friends will love this. Apple butter is used as a spread. Try making this in a panini maker.

5. Apple Cinnamon Coffeecake. Best served warm, this is wonderful with tea in the late afternoon. This is easy to make and can be frozen for later (although that never happens in my house!).

6. Cranberry Apple Pie. The only thing better than apples is apples mixed with cranberries. The slightly tart pie is really easy to make, especially if you use refrigerate pie crust. Purists will want to substitute their own homemade crust.

7. Classic Apple Crisp. This recipe had almost universal 5-star rating on bettycrocker.com and there's a good reason for that: it's delicious, easy to make and just about everyone loves it. Three quick steps and you've got a delicious treat in the oven.

8. Apple Stack Cake. Yes, it's a little complicated but because the point of the cake isn't to be perfect you won't find it that difficult to make. It has its roots in Appalachia because you don't need fresh apples to make it.

9. Apple Brown Butter Jalousie. I had never even heard of a "jalousie" until I read this recipe. But the taste will win you over. I serve sprinkled lightly with confectioners sugar and a small scoop of high quality ice cream.

10. Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with Sauteed Apples. Yes, this takes a bit of preparation and work but the results are so worth it. What a wonderful brunch entree for a lazy weekend or holiday morning!
