Families can trade gently used children’s Halloween costumes for another costume at a free Cape Coral costume swap on Friday, Sept. 18. Costume Swap for a Cause runs from 4–6 p.m. at MM Brands, 1322 Lafayette Street, Unit B, in Cape Coral.
The event is free and open to the public. Organizers say they will donate any costumes left after the swap to Abuse Counseling and Treatment, Inc. (ACT).
How does the Cape Coral costume swap work?
Families are encouraged to bring a gently used children’s Halloween costume and exchange it for another at no cost. The idea gives local families a way to reuse costumes their children have outgrown while looking for something different for this Halloween.
The afternoon will also feature family-friendly activities, community partners, giveaways, and more.
Can families donate costumes without attending the event?
Yes. Families who cannot attend the Cape Coral costume swap may donate gently used children’s costumes at MM Brands through Thursday, Sept. 17. MM Brands is located at 1322 Lafayette Street, Cape Coral, FL 33904.
After the Sept. 18 event, organizers say all remaining costumes will go to ACT. The nonprofit provides services to individuals and families affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
