September 11, 2026, marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. Friday, September 11
2026 Patriot Day 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

Join the Bonita Springs community for a Patriot Day remembrance ceremony honoring the lives lost on September 11, 2001, the heroes who answered the call, and the resilience of our nation.
The 2026 ceremony will feature keynote speaker Mikaila Cruz, a survivor of the World Trade Center attacks.

25th Remembrance of September 11, 2001
6-7:30 p.m.
Gather at the Collier County Freedom Memorial for a special candlelight ceremony marking 25 years since the September 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon and the crash of Flight 93 in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
The remembrance is free and open to the public.

Honoring Our Heroes
7:30-9 p.m.
The Fort Myers Philharmonic opens its inaugural season with Honoring Our Heroes, a special concert commemorating the 25th anniversary of September 11 and honoring local first responders and others who serve the community.
The program includes Barber’s Adagio for Strings and Mozart’s Requiem under the direction of Maestro Paul Nadler.

Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk Fort Myers

Run, walk and remember during the annual Tunnel to Towers 5K in Fort Myers. The event brings the Southwest Florida community together to honor first responders who gave their lives on September 11 and support the Tunnel to Towers Foundation’s work on behalf of fallen and catastrophically injured first responders, military heroes and their families.

Grateful Veteran – Stars & Stripes Golf Classic

The Stars & Stripes Golf Classic benefits The Grateful Veteran, a Florida-based nonprofit founded by veterans to support veterans and first responders.
The four-person scramble includes golf, contests, prizes and lunch.

5th Annual 9/11 Naples Memorial Stair Climb

Honor and remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, during the 5th Annual 9/11 Naples Memorial Stair Climb.
Presented by Brotherhood Ride, the annual climb pays tribute to the firefighters, law enforcement officers and other first responders who answered the call on September 11. Participants climb in remembrance of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
