A variety of ongoing events are open to the public at Koreshan State Historic Site. A Farmers’ Market is held every Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00p.m. Fresh and local goods including fresh crepes, flowers, honey, soaps, Key Lime goodies, coffee & teas, artisan breads, produce, seafood, jewelry, crafts and more. Park admission is free for the Farmer’s Market, but a $1.00 per entry environmental impact fee applies.
Walking tours are held daily at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00p.m. Guests can explore structures and gardens of the 19th century religious settlement and learn about the pioneers. Guided Tours are $2 for adults, $1 for children under 6 years of age. Guests can enjoy an historic paddle to explore the unique ecosystem of the site with a Florida Master Naturalist. A Guided Garden Tour is held on Teusdays from 1-2:30p.m. Guests will observe native and exotic plants established by the early Koreshans. Garden tours are $2 for adults, $1 for children under 6. On Wednesdays an Engine Demonstration is held at 11:30a.m. Meet at the Generator Building for a demonstration of 1900’s engines. Cracker Cowboy Cooking is held every Thursday at 11:00a.m. Saunter back in time and enjoy Cracker Cowboy Cooking at the Cast Iron Café where Koreshan recipes are prepared using a historic 1903 Dutch oven and wood-burning oven. Evelyn’s Kitchen is held every Friday at 11:00 a.m. Guests can cook like the Koreshans using historic recipes. An Engine demonstration is held every Saturday at 11:30 a.m. for a demonstration of 1900’s engines.
