Firehouse Birthday
The best birthday party I ever had for my daughter was a visit to the North Naples FD by Veterans Park. The kids rode in the fire truck, took a tour of the firehouse, and they put on a rescue show for the kids (including Spider-Man). They also provided party bags. I provided cake and drinks and another party bag. – Pamela Geoghegan Rivera
Koreshan Camping
We had a camping theme birthday for my son’s 6th birthday at Koreshan. The kids made bird feeders out of pine cones and I made s’mores pops sitting around a mini mock camp fire. All the kids got bug collecting containers and we took a nature hike. – Beth Cooper
YouTube Channel Video
Create a YouTube channel for the birthday child and let family members and friends record “Happy Birthday” videos for them. I think this would be a great thing to do for a child/teen who has recently moved or has family spread out. It would also be great for children who may have medical issues and/or are in the hospital. – Tiffany Hannett
Treasure Map Scavenger Hunt
My kids attended a party where they were given treasure maps and rode in pairs on a scavenger hunt. There were prizes for every child at each stop. – Melissa Waring Bates
Keepsake Crafts
I love to get the kids to make a craft together that the birthday child can have as a keepsake.– Luciemari Bonilla
Lego Theme
How about a Lego birthday party? You can put Legos in the goody bags, have a Legos contest and Legos-themed cake. – Jayne Rice
Super Hero Party
I am throwing my twin’s 5th birthday party tomorrow and the theme is Super Heroes. Everyone is coming dressed as a super hero. The kids will make their own masks, make bottle cap super hero necklaces and we’ll have a bounce house. I found an etsy.com seller who made cute super hero invitations. For $12 he gave me the PDF and I printed them off myself at Staples. I also taped together 6 large blue poster boards and made a city scape scene with black construction paper for the buildings and yellow for the windows and put it up on the wall for a photo booth background. – Shannon Blaeske
Golden Gate Pool Party
We hosted my son’s 5th birthday party at the Golden Gate Pool with a Spongebob theme. It’s only $20 per hour to rent the big pavilion near the kiddie pool. We had them tally up the guest entrance fees and paid them before we left. It’s only about $3/per adult and less for the kids so it wasn’t bad at all. I made cupcakes, ordered some sandwich platters and chips and called it a day. – Alexandra Metral
Easy Party Favors
What to do with all those extra toys from kids fast food meals? Give them away as prizes for playing birthday games. – Tina Maddox Platter
Princess Party Theme
For my six year old we did a princess party with all girls they dressed in their favorite princess outfit and we did hair, nails and toes. – Cathy Chickerell
Pirate Party
When my son was in preschool we had a pirate party. Kids were given pirate eye patches, shovels and bags and sent into the back yard to dig up the buried treasure to take home and enjoy. It was awesome. – Jody Taylor
Can U Dig It Party
We just had an awesome 4th birthday party for my son at “Can U Dig It” Park in North Collier Regional Park. It was a “construction” theme party so it was perfect. We spent very little on decorations and everyone had a blast. – Melissa Lestock
After-school Park Party
When my kids were preschool age I had their birthdays right after school at the park close to their school. I provided lunch and cake. There was no charge to use the park and the kids had a great time at the playground. – Amy Bevilacqua D’Altrui
Pink Poodle Party
We did a pink poodle party last year. We cut a huge pink poodle out of a cardboard box and covered it with cotton balls and spray painted it pink, then played pin the tail on the poodle–it was oodles of fun – Kelly Mellert
Balloon Surprise Gift
One year I wrapped up a box of blown up balloons. In each balloon I had a 5, 10, or 20 dollar bill folded up inside. It was a fun way to give money. – Angela Harwell
