Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples (CMON) has debuted an exciting new farming exhibit for kids in Naples: EFC Farms. Created in partnership with EFC Farms of Fort Myers and U.S. Sugar, this hands-on exhibit invites children to discover the world of farming — from plants grown right here in Southwest Florida to aquaponics, beekeeping, and local agricultural careers.

Hands-On Activities for Kids
This interactive farming exhibit for kids in Naples lets children experience the life of a farmer through fun, hands-on activities. Kids can:
- Pretend to be farmers planting crops into aquaponic tubes
- Compare their height to farm animals and local plants
- Search for the queen bee in a honey panel
- Climb inside a giant chicken coop to sort eggs
What Kids Will Learn About Southwest Florida Farming
“CMON is excited to launch a new kind of exhibit for the museum,” said Jonathan Foerster, CMON CEO. “While still providing great opportunity for imaginative play for kids of all ages, EFC Farms also provides fun ways to explore elementary school science curriculum and inspire career curiosity in our 3rd through 5th grade visitors.”
Created with EFC Farms owners David and Dr. Alise Bartley, the exhibit highlights aquaponic farming — a method that combines fish farming with plant cultivation in water — and showcases the importance of sustainable farming in our region.
In addition, U.S. Sugar contributed to a section of the exhibit that teaches children and families about soil, seeds, fruits and vegetables, livestock, seafood, and the many career paths available in agriculture.
“Public education is the key to understanding where our food comes from and how Florida farmers play an integral role in our nation’s food supply,” said Ryan Duffy, U.S. Sugar Senior Director for Corporate Communications. “We’re proud to help Southwest Florida students learn how agriculture supports both our economy and our ecosystem.”
