About Us

Southwest Florida Family is the only parenting publication in Southwest Florida.

Powered by Neapolitan Family Publishing, LLC, our roots run deep in both counties. Neapolitan Family has served parents since 2000, and Lee Family News since 1991. In December 2025, Neapolitan Family Publishing, LLC acquired Lee Family News, and beginning with the January issue, we began delivering a combined edition designed for families throughout Collier and Lee Counties. We rebranded as Southwest Florida Family.

Each month, Southwest Florida Family reaches 80,500+ parents with award-winning print and digital issues, emailed newsletters, an award-winning website, and social media. Our free monthly magazine is distributed at 150+ locations, including Collier County Public Libraries and Lee County Public Libraries.

Neapolitan Family partners with Collier County Public Schools to produce an Activities Guide three times a year. Each guide provides a resource for academics, afterschool care, special attractions, sports, special needs, support groups, and more for parents of elementary school children in Collier County.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: to provide families with the best parenting resources in Southwest Florida. We do this by creating helpful, locally focused editorial content; maintaining an extensive calendar of events; and sharing the best things to do each week through our newsletter.

Events and Community

We proudly sponsor nonprofit and community events each year. Our signature events include the Southwest Florida Family Back to School Expo each August and the Summer Camp Fair each March.

Programs and Partnerships

Collier County Public Schools Activities Guide
We partner with Collier County Public Schools to produce an Activities Guide three times a year for parents of elementary students in Collier County. The issue is sent directly to parents of middle and high school students.

We are proud to be a member of the Parenting Media Association (PMA), a national trade association of regional parenting publications. We adhere to PMA’s guidelines for high journalistic excellence and ethical business practices. This includes providing services and consulting with integrity, honesty, and respect for all business owners, not just the ones who choose to work with us.

In 2025, Neapolitan Family Publishing won six prestigious editorial and design awards at the annual Parenting Media Association (PMA) Conference. The awards recognize the exceptional quality of the magazine’s content and design, which have consistently delivered insightful, informative articles for families in Southwest Florida.

Our Team

Stacy Nicolau

Co-owner and co-publisher

Stacy Nicolau has a degree in Journalism and Mass Communications and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After working as a registered nurse for many years, she decided to return to her love of publications and began working for Neapolitan Family in 2011. Stacy is the mother of three and has lived in Naples for over 24 years.

Jane MacNealy

Co-owner and co-publisher

Jane MacNealy is an experienced media professional with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland Global Campus. Her career began as a graphic designer and pre-press specialist, mainly in the printing industry, then transitioned into the publishing and media arena. With 23 years of experience, Jane has worn multiple hats as a publisher, graphic designer, and social media manager for regional parenting publications. Jane won multiple design and editorial awards from the Parenting Media Association. Jane enjoys playing volleyball, hiking, and gardening.

Andrea Stetson

Contributing writer

A veteran journalist, Andrea Stetson has been covering northern Collier County for nearly 35 years. With degrees from Northwestern and NYU, she’s reported for ABC and CBS affiliates in Florida and Pennsylvania before settling into a distinguished career at the News-Press for over 25 years. Andrea started writing for Neapolitan Family in 2021 and has won awards from the Parenting Media Association for her articles. Andrea also writes for various publications, including the Naples Daily and Florida Weekly. She won the Newsmaker Award for distinguished news coverage of public education in Florida and the Media Award for hurricane coverage for her stories in The News-Press. Andrea lives in Collier County and enjoys boating, pickleball, traveling, swimming and spending time with her family and pets, including six large bunnies. Karen T. Bartlett

As a travel journalist, photographer and essayist, Karen explores the world to capture the sense-of-place ambience in both well-traveled and beyond-the-crowds destinations. A member of the invitation-only Society of America Travel Writers, her work has earned top awards from the Florida Magazine Association, the Independent Book Publishers Association, and on behalf of Neapolitan Family Magazine, the Parenting Media Association. In addition to hundreds of travel features for print and digital publications throughout North America and the Caribbean, she’s the author of 11 destination coffee table books and publisher of Mostly Kids’ Guides, the family-focused regional guidebook series covering Southwest Florida. Liani Belcher

Calendar Editor

Liani Belcher, a native of Naples, FL, is a local blogger who manages the Belcher Family Blog, where she and her family share their adventures and highlight the best of Southwest Florida. In 2023, Liani joined the Neapolitan Family Magazine team as a guest blogger (check out our series, Neapolitan Family Adventures ft. Belcher Family Blog) and she is also the calendar editor. An adventurous spirit, Liani loves spending time outdoors and exploring new activities with her family.
