Thanksgiving is just around the corner so it's time to get started on decorating for the holiday. Get the kids involved with our cute and easy crafts projects. We have 5 great ideas that will add a festive touch to your holiday and help the kids feel like a part of the festivities!
1. Thanksgiving Calendar. Spend a little time each day reminding each other to be thankful with this sweet Thanksgiving Calendar. At the end of the month, take the slips of paper out of the envelopes and put them in a jar or basket on your kitchen counter to be a constant reminder to practice gratitude.

2. Pilgrim Hat Centerpiece. What a cute planter for your dining table! You could skip the crafts part and just buy a pilgrim hat at Party City and place a waterproof pot inside but if the kids would enjoy making it, the supplies are cheap and easy to find. Fill with seasonal flowers and you're good to go.

3. Thanksgiving Place Mats. Download the clip art on the site and then print on kraft paper. Give each child their own place mat with some crayons and your kids will happily color at the table for the last 15 or 20 minutes before dinner is served. If your printer doesn't take 11 x 17 paper, just reduce the print setting for either 8 1/2 x 14 or 8 1/2 x 11. I really like the suggestion of one of the commentators to print the mats back to back so children have a chance to start over if them mess up one side.
4. Leaf Shaped Crayons. These make the perfect accompaniment to the place mats as well as a cute gift for pint-sized guests to take home. Recycle crayons into new, leaf-shaped ones with small molds you can buy online.
5. Pumpkin Coach Place Cards. Get guests to their proper place at the table with these cute place cards. There is a template available and then you'll need a few supplies to finish off the cards. Have children carefully print each guest's name and you're all set.
