On Friday, February 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Laurie Nienhaus will present “What Were They Thinking?” Local speaker, author and playwright will do a vintage costume presentation that will take us on an amusing step back in time for a peek at fashions that hid a woman’s real body, gave her the look of a mermaid, and helped to make swooning the rage!
This Garden Side Chickee Chats will be held in the Chickee Pavilion in The Norris Gardens at Palm Cottage. All Garden Side Chickee Chats are FREE for members and $5 for non- members. There will be limited seating so call to make your reservation today. Members are encouraged to explore Historic Palm Cottage or see a film in the Cottage Theater after the presentation. For non-members your Chickee Chat admission will be deducted if you join same day!
Naples Historical Society receives no government funding and relies on membership dues and donations to fulfill its mission. Historic Palm Cottage™ is located at 137 12th Avenue South, just one block east of the Naples Pier. Palm Cottage and The Norris Gardens are open Tuesday through Saturday from 1-4 p.m. year-round. Admission is $10 per person. Members are always free and so are children 10 and under.
